How Do I Engage TCM?

TCM, as a regional growth capitalist, plays an active and involved role on behalf of a wide range of private companies. As you might imagine, the companies span a wide range in terms of their maturity, marketability and readiness for a growth strategy.

We get involved with clients in all stages of the process. Some are nowhere near ready for capital formation or an exit scenario. Others are already appealing to investors, lenders and strategic partners.

Transition Capital participates in client engagements at three different levels:

  • A traditional professional relationship
  • A non-traditional professional relationship
  • A volunteer or mentoring professional relationship

In addition, there are other successful professional services providers working with us regularly in both compensated and volunteer corporate growth projects.

The eternal entrepreneurial hope is that the new business can acquire a functioning management team without first having to find professional investors. This requires the combination of a high degree of luck, previous ownership success, deep founder and managerial pockets, and a recognizably outstanding business model. In those geographic regions of the U.S. characterized as having ‘traditionally high capital velocity,’ the luck component is not so important - as serial entrepreneurial management teams abound.
